This role is a strong fit for an Engineer 3 level professional who enjoys stormwater management, drainage design, permitting coordination, and solving practical site challenges as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

This role includes a mix of office collaboration, focused design work, virtual coordination, and occasional field visits or client and municipal meetings. Project work may support commercial, industrial, residential, mixed use, municipal, institutional, and redevelopment projects across Pennsylvania and surrounding markets.
Position Summary / What You’ll Do
As a Stormwater Management Civil Engineer, you will apply civil engineering knowledge to help design, document, and permit stormwater management and site infrastructure solutions. You will work alongside engineers, project managers, surveyors, designers, and environmental professionals to develop practical solutions that balance technical performance, regulatory requirements, constructability, and client goals.
Projects may range from small redevelopment sites to large, multiphase developments exceeding 100 acres. Your work will support responsible growth through stormwater management design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, erosion and sediment control, site grading, utility coordination, and permitting support.
Responsibilities / Day-to-Day
- Prepare and support stormwater management, drainage, grading, utility, and erosion and sediment control designs for land development projects.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, stormwater modeling, drainage area mapping, and related technical analyses.
- Develop or assist with plans, specifications, reports, permit applications, construction documents, and supporting engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, CAD designers, surveyors, environmental staff, clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
- Research and interpret applicable stormwater, NPDES, erosion and sediment control, zoning, and land development regulations.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate technical information clearly to internal teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.
- Support quality control by reviewing calculations, drawings, reports, and project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited program.
- Minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience, including internships or related project experience.
- Engineer in Training certification or progress toward Professional Engineer licensure.
- Experience with stormwater management design, drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, or civil site design.
- Working knowledge of land development plans, grading, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and permitting processes.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or related engineering design software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across project teams.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Professional Engineer license in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain licensure in the future.
- Experience with Pennsylvania stormwater management, NPDES permitting, PCSM design, and erosion and sediment control requirements.
- Experience using stormwater or water resources software such as HydroCAD, StormCAD, Hydraflow, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or similar tools.
- Experience supporting commercial, industrial, residential, mixed use, municipal, institutional, or redevelopment projects.
- Interest in mentoring junior team members and growing into broader technical or project leadership responsibilities.
