This role supports a mission-driven communications environment where clear, compelling storytelling helps amplify awareness around disaster response and humanitarian impact. You will create and refine copy across a wide range of channels, shaping how the organization communicates with the public, partners, and supporters. The work spans campaigns, digital platforms, and fundraising communications, requiring both creativity and precision. You will collaborate closely with brand and communications teams to ensure consistency of voice and message across all touchpoints. Operating in a fast-paced, purpose-led setting, you will help translate complex ideas into accessible, engaging content. This is a flexible, remote assignment where adaptability and strong writing craft are essential.
- Develop clear, engaging, and on-brand copy across digital and print channels, including ads, email campaigns, social media, websites, video scripts, and fundraising materials.
- Collaborate with brand and communications stakeholders to support creative concepting, messaging frameworks, and campaign development.
- Provide copyediting and proofreading support to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to editorial guidelines and brand voice.
- Adapt tone and messaging for diverse audiences while maintaining clarity and emotional resonance across platforms.
- Support content refinement across cross-functional initiatives in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
- Contribute to maintaining and evolving messaging standards to strengthen overall brand coherence.
- 4–7 years of professional copywriting experience, ideally in a mission-driven, nonprofit, or purpose-led organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Creative Writing, or a related field.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across short-form and long-form content, including digital, email, social, and campaign writing.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to tone, detail, and clarity.
- Ability to quickly adapt messaging style for different audiences and communication channels.
- Experience working within collaborative creative or marketing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to receive feedback and iterate effectively.
- Hourly compensation ranging from $28.00 – $38.00 based on experience
- Remote, U.S.-based flexible work arrangement with non-traditional scheduling options
- 6-month temporary, part-time engagement (approximately 10–15 hours per week)
