Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Member of Technical Staff, Transparency (Backend Engineer) in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, compliance, and financial infrastructure within a highly regulated digital asset environment. You will help build and evolve systems that power client onboarding, billing, transaction monitoring, and risk detection at scale. The work directly supports critical functions such as fraud prevention, anti-money laundering (AML), and regulatory reporting in a fast-growing institutional crypto platform. You will collaborate closely with compliance, legal, finance, and customer-facing teams to design resilient APIs and data systems. This is a highly cross-functional engineering role where technical depth meets real-world financial impact. You will contribute to systems that must be secure, auditable, and highly reliable under strict regulatory expectations. The environment is fast-paced, mission-driven, and focused on building the future infrastructure of digital finance.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs supporting onboarding, billing, compliance, and risk monitoring workflows.
- Develop and enhance distributed systems that ensure secure, auditable, and high-integrity financial data processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including compliance, legal, finance, and product to translate regulatory and business requirements into technical solutions.
- Build systems supporting transaction monitoring, fraud detection, and AML screening in a highly regulated environment.
- Break down complex technical initiatives into executable workstreams, contributing to or leading medium-to-large cross-functional projects.
- Ensure systems are maintainable, extensible, and well-tested, with strong attention to reliability and performance.
- Mentor peers, share technical knowledge, and help strengthen engineering practices across teams.
- Strong experience building and scaling complex distributed backend systems in production environments.
- Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
- Experience designing maintainable, extensible, and well-tested software architectures.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced agile environments with multiple concurrent priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Proven ability to take ownership of projects end-to-end and drive technical execution with limited oversight.
- Bonus: experience with financial services systems such as billing, compliance, or risk infrastructure.
- Bonus: familiarity with technologies such as GraphQL, gRPC, or Temporal, and/or experience debugging across complex open-source or distributed systems.
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market standards in the United States.
- Opportunity to work on mission-critical financial infrastructure shaping the future of digital assets.
- High-impact engineering environment working closely with compliance, legal, finance, and product teams.
- Strong focus on professional growth, mentorship, and technical ownership.
- Inclusive and collaborative culture that values diversity and cross-functional learning.
- Exposure to cutting-edge systems in security, distributed infrastructure, and regulated crypto finance.
- Equal opportunity workplace with strong commitments to inclusion and fairness.
