ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the worlds greatest crises in partnership with the church. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance Manager oversees and controls all financial transactions, financial reporting, grants management, and budget execution. This position assumes a leadership role as well, using the platform of office finances, to ensure alignment with both office and departmental strategy and priorities.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Revenue and Expense Accounting
  • Oversee and implement procedures for revenue to ensure timely, accurate, and controlled receipt and recording of funds received
  • Oversee and implement procedures for expenses to ensure timely, accurate, and controlled cash disbursements, check payments, and credit card charges and the detailed recording of such expenditures
  • Gain expertise in and utilize on an ongoing basis the organizational ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) for the processing of payments, detailed recording of expenditures, and generation of reports
  • Work closely with the Office Director and Program Managers to create program budgets, incorporating anticipated revenue, direct and indirect expenses, and other requirements as dictated by the program
  • Work closely with the Office Director to develop an annual fiscal budget incorporating active and projected program budgets, other anticipated revenue and expenses, and specific Home Office requirements
  • Maintain monthly tracking of all budgets, elevating potential areas of concerns to appropriate managers/directors, and updating budgeted line items, as necessary
  • Function as primary liaison with Home Office on finance related issues, local financial institutions, and other entities as involvement or need arises
Other Duties
  • Create monthly invoices and supporting expense reports for local and state grants
  • Maintain client expenses and generate reports as needed for the administration of programs
  • Act as financial representative on the office leadership team
  • Oversee basic HR functions for office including oversight of payroll, benefits, policies, and work environment
  • In conjunction with Office Director and Development staff, research and/or assist in pursuing funding opportunities and assist with foundation and grant applications
  • Support Home Office and perform other duties as required
  • This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees, including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required time frame. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values, including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Working knowledge of Windows & Microsoft software including Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with team members
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve and pay attention to the details
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside of scheduled hours for events and travel.
  • Strong Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage in stressful or crisis situations
  • Cross cultural competency
