Job Description
Network Engineer Level 1
The position calls for a hard-working individual looking to grow their career in IT.
Their main duties include working alongside the On-site Support Staff with our Network team. This position is ideal for people with a technical aptitude and genuine interest in Technology. Network Engineer Level 1s assist more senior Network Engineers with support, maintenance and optimization of core network services, devices and communications systems.
Fully On-site
Certifications - Network+, Google Admin, MCSP, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CLA, ITTL Foundation or equivalent experience
Required Skills/Knowledge:
• Proficient in Active Directory (User & Group Policy Management)
• Extensive experience with managing and configuring firewalls (FortiGate, SonicWall, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA)
• Image Creation (MDT & SCCM)
• Experience with MDM solutions (InTune/Azure, JAMF, SCCM, Google Admin, WorkspaceOne)
• Experience with content filters (LightSpeed, GoGuardian, FortiEMS or comparable)
• Experience with Backups (Barracuda, VEEM)
• Strong understanding of networking principles (DNS, DHCP, Subnets, VLANs, etc)
• Strong understanding of network monitoring applications.
Server/Storage Management:
• Management of group policies or profiles
• Advanced network administration such as directory and domain troubleshooting
• Cluster Hardware configurations
• Virtual server administration (Hyper-V/VMware)
• General NAS/SAN administration
• Implementation of patch processes for servers using bundled solutions such as SUS, WUS and SCCM
• Maintain network backup solutions
• Integration of MAC OS and Active Directory
Design and Project Documenting:
• Basic Infrastructure design including IP addressing and Subnetting.
• Server Centric diagramming and documentation
• General Network Diagramming and documentation
• Helpdesk reporting and ticket management
Certifications:
o Minimum: CompTIA Network +
o Ideal:
JAMF 100, Google Admin, CCNA, NSE4 or comparable
o Bonus:
Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Security+
Schooling/Experience:
• Bachelor of Science Degree preferred but not required.
• Must have 3- years of experience.
Note: Candidates require fingerprinting and background checks. Candidates will have to comply. Candidates are required to have a vehicle for minimal travel between buildings.
