About the Role:

The 1st Shift Robotic Welder plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining advanced robotic welding equipment to produce high-quality welded components. This position requires precision and technical expertise to ensure that all welds meet stringent quality and safety standards. The role involves interpreting blueprints and welding specifications to program and adjust robotic systems accordingly. The Robotic Welder collaborates closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and optimize welding processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this position ensures efficient production workflows while maintaining compliance with all safety and operational protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience operating robotic welding equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding.
  • Ability to perform mechanical adjustments and routine maintenance on robotic systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in robotic welding or related technical training.
  • Experience with programming robotic welding cells using industry-standard software.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards such as ISO or AWS welding codes.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, program, and operate robotic welding machines to perform welding tasks according to specifications.
  • Inspect and test welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and make necessary adjustments to equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on robotic welding systems to minimize downtime.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures to accurately configure robotic welders.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed records of welding operations, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Robotic Welder to accurately set up and operate robotic welding equipment, ensuring welds meet precise specifications. Proficiency in blueprint reading and welding techniques is essential for programming and adjusting robots to perform complex welds. Mechanical aptitude supports routine maintenance and quick troubleshooting to maintain continuous production flow. Preferred skills such as robotic programming and quality control knowledge enhance the ability to optimize welding processes and improve product quality. Effective communication and collaboration skills are also important for working with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and maintain safety standards.
