Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, AI Transformation based in the United States.
This is a high-impact engineering role at the forefront of AI-driven software transformation, focused on redefining how engineering teams design, build, test, and operate software. You will join a newly formed, forward-looking team within a core architecture and infrastructure organization, responsible for creating the systems, tools, and patterns that enable safe and scalable AI-augmented development. The role sits at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, developer experience, and applied AI systems, with direct influence on how internal teams adopt and operationalize LLM-powered workflows. You will help build the foundational layer for agentic software development, enabling engineers, product managers, and designers to work more effectively with AI. This is a highly cross-functional environment where you will partner closely with engineering, product, security, and infrastructure teams. Your work will directly shape the reliability, safety, and productivity of AI-enabled development across the organization.
This role focuses on building and scaling internal AI-powered systems that transform how software is developed, tested, and operated across engineering teams.
- Design and build AI-powered developer tools integrated into everyday engineering workflows such as IDEs, Slack, documentation systems, and observability platforms
- Develop and maintain backend services and infrastructure that support LLM-driven workflows, including tool-calling, orchestration, and agentic systems
- Implement and evolve AI inference pipelines using modern LLM platforms and frameworks, ensuring reliability, security, and performance at scale
- Partner with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to define AI-augmented software development lifecycle (SDLC) patterns
- Build internal chat-based and automation tools that safely orchestrate systems and services through agent-driven interfaces
- Instrument, monitor, and analyze AI usage, performance, cost, and reliability to guide engineering and leadership decisions
- Develop reusable libraries, templates, and frameworks that enable teams to adopt AI workflows consistently and securely
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure safe handling of sensitive data, including healthcare-related information
- Contribute to documentation, training materials, and enablement sessions to support organization-wide adoption of AI tools
This role requires strong backend engineering expertise combined with hands-on experience building and integrating AI/LLM-based systems in production environments.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally focused on infrastructure, developer tools, or internal platforms
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or Ruby
- Hands-on experience working with LLM platforms or orchestration frameworks (e.g., AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LiteLLM, or similar)
- Experience designing and building backend services, APIs (REST/GraphQL), or event-driven systems at scale
- Proven experience integrating AI capabilities into real-world workflows, including tool-calling, agents, or multi-step orchestration systems
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and secure-by-design engineering practices
- Experience building internal tools such as chatops, CLIs, bots, or workflow automation systems
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate complex operational workflows into technical solutions
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Bonus: experience with observability tools, Terraform, Slack apps, or regulated environments involving sensitive data (e.g., healthcare or PHI)
- Competitive salary with annual bonus eligibility
- Equity grants as part of long-term incentive compensation
- Remote-first work environment within the United States
- Flexible time off to support rest, recovery, and personal balance
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with strong employer contributions
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) for wellness, learning, and personal development
- Mental health and wellbeing support resources
- Generous parental leave policy
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI systems shaping the future of software development.
