JOB DESCRIPTION:
The University of Texas Medical Branch is in search of an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in Allergy/Immunology
The Division of Allergy and Immunology in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch is recruiting for a full-time faculty position in adult allergy/immunology. The appointee will focus on the clinical care of adults with allergic and immunologic disorders in the outpatient clinic setting and inpatient consult service. This individual will be expected to devote the majority of their time to clinical care and teaching trainees at the University of Texas Medical Branch and pursue scholarly interests. The position includes active involvement in the fellowship program.
The University of Texas Medical Branch serves a diverse patient population in Galveston, League City and Clear Lake, Texas as well as the Texas Department Criminal Justice Hospital. We seek a candidate with a strong background in allergy/immunology, interest in teaching, and excellent communication skills. The position includes a full-time academic appointment at the University of Texas Medical Branch with rank and salary commensurate with training and experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide outpatient and inpatient allergy/immunology care across multiple sites
- Perform and interpret skin testing, patch testing, spirometry, FENO, and PFTs
- Manage immunotherapy, oral food/drug challenges, and desensitization
- Develop individualized treatment plans and educate patients
- Supervise and train fellows, residents, and students in clinical and procedural care
- Teach diagnostic interpretation and participate in didactic conferences
- Mentor trainees and support fellowship recruitment and program development
- Engage in community education and outreach in allergy/immunology
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - M.D. or equivalent medical professional degree
- Must be Board Certified or Eligible in Allergy and Immunology
- Eligibility for Texas medical licensure
PREFERRED SKILL/COMPETENCY - Clinical practice experience
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
