Job Description
Delegates appropriate tasks and duties to other members of the health care team.

Reports to work as scheduled, in appropriate attire.
Within 2-5 years of employment the RN is strongly encouraged to obtain certification in oncology nursing (OCN). Time frame will depend on your level of training.
Prior to infusing regimen ensure authorization process is complete.
Learn to mix chemotherapy.
Perform double check of drug calculations prior to preparing chemotherapy. Chair side check is done with two RNs to ensure the Five Rights of Medication Administration are verified. Documents that the double check was performed.
Ensure patient’s follow-up appointments are secured.
Maintains a good attendance record and reports to work on time as set forth in Physicians East Personnel Handbook.
All employees are expected to adhere to compliance requirements with respect to HIPAA/OSHA, etc.
Candidate requirements
Must have current license as a Registered Nurse in NC.
Prefer at least one year experience as a registered nurse. Prefer experience in Hematology/Oncology.
