Position Summary:
The Store Supervisor will be responsible for the management of store operations in the absence of the Store Manager. The Supervisor will assist the Store Manager in most areas of the business including the training and supervision of personnel. The incumbent will also be responsible for performing all duties assigned to the Cashier.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
The Nett Lake Store Supervisor is responsible for the following duties:
- Recruit, interview, and train qualified store employees to ensure adequate staffing levels and minimize payment of overtime.
- Cover shifts in emergency/sick/vacation situations.
- Works Saturdays and/or Sundays when needed to prepare deposits from the previous day’s business.
- Provide leadership by working as a team leader with employees and setting a high level of performance standards.
- Assist the Store Manager in completing new hire paperwork.
- Promptly complete all daily, weekly, and monthly administrative reports as requested by the Store Manager.
- Prepare deposits in a timely manner as requested by the Store Manager.
- Complete all daily and weekly sales reports on time and according to procedures.
- Accurately determine all invoice retail and cost amounts and record them on the perpetual inventory system according to procedures.
- Understand and apply the key checks and balances within the reporting system and how they relate to store operations.
- Implement all operational controls effectively and according to procedures to minimize store losses.
- Order all store merchandise and fuel products on a timely basis and monitor inventory levels.
- Understand and follow all company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Attend and facilitate scheduled meetings as needed.
- Ensure monthly promotional programs are followed and that employees understand and are familiar with all promotions and promotional merchandise.
- Motivate employees to “suggestive sell” products and services to customers.
- Listen closely to customers’ needs and offer ideas on how to improve product selection and service to meet those needs.
- Operate a clean, well-merchandised and safe environment for employees and customers at all times.
- Properly price merchandise and availability of products.
- Ensure transactions are handled promptly within 90 seconds of the customer approaching the sales counter and ensure all employees do the same.
- Ensure that customers are politely greeted as they enter the store and are pleasantly thanked for their business when they leave.
- Resolve customer complaints or issues expeditiously to a positive outcome and reports problems to the Store Manager.
- Motivate employees and monitor performance in providing a high level of excellence in customer service.
- Accurately prices all products in the store that accepts a price tag with the exception of fresh bakery goods.
- Check product freshness dates and codes to assure that only current merchandise is offered to customers.
- Rotates merchandise on a first in, first out basis.
- Routinely maintain clean products, shelving, displays, counters, and equipment.
- Implement all operational controls effectively and according to procedures to minimize store losses.

- Know and apply all emergency response procedures in case of gas overflows, fire, accidents, injuries, or robbery.
- Ensure that all walkways, entrances, (indoor and outdoor) and driveways are clear of obstructions, including snow and ice; coordinate snow removal when necessary.
- Check in vendors according to the Company Vendor Check-In Policy.
- Follows all store and company policies, procedures and guidelines relating to safety and security.
- Perform all duties outlined in the Nett Lake Store Cashier job description.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one year of retail sales experience.
- Knowledge of accounting practices.
- Customer service experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Safety conscious.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience.
