The Opportunity
Moonlight Basin is seeking a Retail Supervisor who ensures every member and guest receives outstanding service in a friendly, welcoming environment. This role is empowered to guarantee total member satisfaction, displaying hospitality and professionalism at all times while representing Moonlight Basin with pride. The Retail Supervisor helps lead the day-to-day operations of the Retail department, supporting the Retail Associate team and ensuring every transaction and interaction reflects the club's standards of service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the Retail department, including coaching, counseling, training, and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Oversee retail staff to ensure consistent use of department practices and procedures across shifts.
- Initiate interaction with members, guests, and prospective members to gather and share information, ensure compliance with standards and expectations, and receive feedback.
- Supervise the daily operations of the Retail division, including shifts and special events as needed.
- Conduct training as needed to keep the Retail team informed on club events, activities, policy changes, and other information relevant to the member experience.
- Work with the Retail team to ensure Retail Associates consistently meet or exceed member expectations.
- Maintain inventory levels, monitor fluctuating supply and demand, and assist in coordinating product procurement.
- Oversee special and unique member requests before and during their visit; work with the Retail Manager to plan for VIP needs.
- Assist the Retail Manager with scheduling employees to ensure hours of operation align with club needs and business demands.
- Interface with other departments to meet member, guest, and prospective member requests.
- Oversee shipping, receiving, and mail delivery of Retail items.
- Maintain accurate member billing records.
- Respond to member, guest, prospective member, and interdepartmental inquiries via phone, email, fax, and mail.
- Maintain detailed records of member preferences and requests.
- Handle member complaints that escalate beyond the Retail Associate level.
- Recognize Retail team member excellence and identify areas for improvement on a daily basis.
- Support departmental financial objectives, including monitoring expenditures and helping identify corrective actions to meet goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned; job duties and responsibilities may be reassigned at any time based on business needs.

Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent coursework required.
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the retail industry.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Basic math skills and the ability to solve routine problems independently, knowing when to involve a manager.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required based on business demands.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises Retail Associates, including coaching, training, scheduling, and disciplinary action when necessary.

Working Conditions
Work for this position is usually performed in a climate-controlled retail environment. However, the employee may occasionally be required to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, or other inclement weather as the demands of the position dictate.
