Full- Time Night Shift | 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

As an RN Crisis Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health crises by delivering professional nursing care, promoting recovery, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. This is a F/T opening.

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON), the RN Crisis Nurse provides nursing services in accordance with the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act and the standards established by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current and unrestricted North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• One (1) year of nursing experience preferred.
• Must complete 12 hours of Person-Centered Thinking training prior to or within 90 days of hire.
• Must successfully pass all required background checks, including criminal history and child abuse clearances.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications and training, including LSCI, SCM, and Ukeru, as applicable.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care based on individual client needs and established treatment plans.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of client care plans.
• Monitor and assess client behavior, physical health, and overall well-being, communicating significant changes to the Licensed Clinician, Director of Nursing, and/or Physician.
• Administer medications according to physician orders and monitor for adverse reactions or side effects.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Support a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment that promotes client dignity and rights.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living while encouraging independence and skill development.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality care and positive treatment outcomes.
• May provide supervision and support to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) during assigned shifts.
• Participate in crisis intervention activities, including the implementation and observation of approved restraint procedures when ordered by a licensed professional and conducted according to current KidsPeace-approved methodologies.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by nursing leadership.

Physical Requirements

This position may require participation in crisis intervention procedures, including working with youth who may be physically aggressive or present a risk of harm to themselves or others. Employees must be capable of safely performing all essential job functions and required interventions.
