Order Management, Subject Matter Expert

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Order Management, Subject Matter Expert based in the United States.

This role serves as a senior-level expert in order management operations within a complex, high-tech manufacturing environment. You will act as the primary authority on order processing workflows, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across global customer transactions. The position plays a critical role in bridging customer requirements, internal production teams, and supply chain operations to enable smooth and timely order fulfillment. You will help optimize end-to-end order management processes, improve system accuracy, and support cross-functional decision-making in a fast-paced production setting. The environment is highly collaborative and detail-driven, requiring strong coordination across commercial, manufacturing, and logistics teams. This is a key operational role with direct impact on customer satisfaction, delivery performance, and overall business efficiency.

Accountabilities:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for order management processes, ensuring accurate execution of customer orders from entry through fulfillment and delivery.
  • Oversee complex order workflows, resolving issues related to scheduling, availability, logistics, and production constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with supply chain, manufacturing, sales, and logistics teams to ensure seamless order processing and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor order status, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, export control regulations (including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC), and customer requirements.
  • Support system accuracy and data integrity within ERP/order management platforms.
  • Act as a key escalation point for order-related issues and customer inquiries.
  • Contribute to process documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives across order management functions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support forecasting, planning, and demand alignment activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in order management, supply chain operations, or customer operations within a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end order fulfillment processes, including logistics and production coordination.
  • Experience working with ERP or order management systems.
  • Familiarity with export compliance regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to identify process inefficiencies and drive operational improvements.
