Job Description
Sterling Flight Training is an FAA approved part 141 flight training school located in Jacksonville with a satellite operation in Tallahassee. Sterling Flight Training (SFT) is run by respected and successful aviation professionals with strong financial backing. We seek a take charge person who can handle a variety of daily tasks. This role is responsible for managing all admissions processes, office operations and enhancing the overall student experience. Qualifications:
• Understanding flight training or personal aviation flight training experience is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in student services, academic advising, office management or similar role, preferred.
• Must work onsite 40 hours each week Monday- Friday.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy with strong time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task various projects and complete them in a timely manner.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft, Teams, Word, and Excel with the ability to easily adapt to new technology.
• Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Strong organizational and data management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks with a sense of urgency.
• Desire for continuous improvement and willingness to embrace role variations.
• Strong teamwork skills with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Self-starter with desire to help the school improve and grow current processes and procedures.
• Ability to problem-solve and provide constructive feedback and solutions.
• Experience working in multi-location businesses or with hybrid teams is a plus.
• Ability to pass background check and drug test.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Day-to-Day management of the admission/office side of the flight school.
• Manage a variety of unique issues that occur daily.
• Responsible for all student progress tracking, including university and career students in various programs which have specific reporting requirements.
• Manage the front desk, phone line and emails inquiries in a timely manner.
• Provide information to walk-in inquiries and assign prospective student tours as needed.
• Maintain professional relations with all team members, students, and vendors.
• Manage student enrollments, scheduling of students and aircraft updates and changes.
• Take photos of students, facilities, renters, check-rides, for social media and marketing purposes.
• Responsible for all aircraft, student, instructor, and maintenance scheduling needs.
• Provide accounting support as needed,
• Confirm flight lessons and rental reservations daily.
• Manage international students, TSA, and CVIS requirements. Manage VA students and invoicing.
• Manage property and supply needs of the office building as needed.
• Be observant of and create new opportunities for school revenue.
• Oversee maintenance schedule and timeline.
• Liaison to Airport Authority.
• Assist in interview process and onboarding new Team Members.
• Willingness to attend community/industry events to promote the flight school.
