Job Description

Data Center Logistics Specialist III

Role Purpose:

Coordinate and direct daily activities across assigned teams (specialists versus clerk). Drive team execution through daily performance tracking and reporting. Coordinate and delegate resources to resolve most issues. Owns process discipline and leads safety culture for data center.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be able to complete and train to the role and responsibility of a Data Center Specialist and Data Center Clerk
  • Assign work based on priority, SLA, and workload balancing
  • Ensure all operational workflows (receiving, inventory, rack delivery, and decommissioning) are executed efficiently
  • Monitor real-time performance and adjust work assignments throughout the shift
  • Track daily performance using scorecards, dashboards, or trackers
  • Coach and train team productivity, accuracy, and SLA adherence
  • Identify performance gaps and take corrective action in real time
  • Provide shift-level reporting (recaps, escalation summaries, and performance updates)
  • Break down daily/shift plans into actionable tasks
  • Anticipate bottlenecks and adjust tasks proactively
  • Ensure alignment with upstream/downstream teams (transport, tech ops, and inventory control)
  • Trouble shoot workflow disruptions, delays, or errors
  • Resolve issues within authority and escalate appropriately when needed
  • Prevent recurrence through corrective actions and communications
  • Provide on-the-floor coaching to improve productivity and accuracy
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members
  • Reinforce SOP adherence and best practices
  • Act as primary point of contact for shift-level execution issues
  • Communicate status, risks, and priorities to leadership and partner teams
  • Coordinate with tech teams, transport, and inventory control on dependencies
  • Ensure clean handoffs between shifts or teams
  • Oversee inventory accuracy and discrepancy resolution
  • Ensure proper execution of inventory transactions and tracking
  • Validate adherence to SOPs and operational standards
  • Identify and address safety risks immediately (leading by example in safety behaviors)
  • Implement process changes directed by leadership
  • Share best practices across shifts or teams
  • Conduct shift start/end meetings

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Previous experience in a data center desirable
