Job Description

Software Engineer, Professional

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer, Professional in United States.

This role is part of a high-impact engineering team building modern, AI-augmented SaaS solutions designed to improve operational outcomes in complex, data-driven environments. The Software Engineer works within a small, fast-moving delivery trio, collaborating closely with a Product Owner and a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and ship full-stack features. This is a hands-on development role where engineers own meaningful portions of the product surface from design through production and operational support. The environment emphasizes rapid iteration, continuous delivery, and deep integration of AI tools into the software development lifecycle. Engineers are expected to contribute to architectural decisions, code quality, and system reliability while shipping frequently. This position offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical technology with real-world societal impact in a highly collaborative and technically progressive setting.

Accountabilities:
  • Build, test, and deliver full-stack features end-to-end, translating engineering-ready specifications into production-ready code within a delivery trio model.
  • Leverage AI-powered development tools daily for coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and accelerating delivery workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Senior Engineers to contribute to design discussions, architectural decisions, and technical direction.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing and receiving feedback to continuously improve code quality and team standards.
  • Take ownership of operational responsibilities for assigned product areas, including monitoring, incident response, and on-call participation when required.
  • Develop and maintain scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code across frontend and backend systems.
  • Contribute to API design, database schema development, and system performance optimization.
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering practices, AI tool usage, and delivery efficiency within the team.
  • Communicate technical decisions clearly through documentation, comments, and collaborative discussions.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with full-stack development in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js, React, HTML/CSS, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to design database schemas, write efficient queries, and build responsive, accessible user interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of daily engineering workflows.
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
  • Experience working in agile or continuous delivery environments with frequent deployments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferred: experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, automated testing frameworks, and API design.
  • Preferred: exposure to regulated industries or early-stage/high-growth startup environments.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of $120,000 – $140,000 depending on experience and location
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Fully remote work within the United States (Central Time Zone alignment required)
  • Summer half-day Fridays and seasonal “Freed Up Fridays” for focused work
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance
  • Optional supplemental insurance benefits
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Inclusive, mission-driven, and innovation-focused engineering culture
  • Opportunity to work on impactful, real-world public safety technology
