Job Description:
We're looking for a Site Reliability Manager to lead the team that keeps our platform fast, available, and resilient as we scale. You'll own the reliability strategy for our production systems, build and grow a high-performing SRE team, and partner closely with engineering, product, and security leaders to make reliability a shared, measurable outcome.
This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll spend most of your time coaching engineers, setting direction, and improving how we operate, while staying close enough to the technology to guide architecture decisions and step in during critical incidents.
- Lead, hire, and develop a team of Site Reliability Engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and blameless accountability
- Define and drive the reliability roadmap, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for critical services
- Own incident management end to end: on-call structure, escalation paths, incident command, and post-incident reviews that lead to lasting fixes
- Improve observability across the stack (metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting) so teams can detect and resolve issues quickly
- Champion automation to reduce toil, and drive improvements in deployment safety, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
- Partner with engineering and product leaders to balance feature velocity with reliability, and to embed reliability practices into the development lifecycle
- Manage cloud infrastructure cost and performance, identifying opportunities to optimize spend without compromising resilience
- Report on reliability health, trends, and risks to senior leadership
- 7+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, including 2+ years managing engineers
- Deep experience operating large-scale, distributed systems in production on a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized workloads, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry
- A track record of leading incident response and turning lessons learned into durable improvements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across teams and levels of seniority
- Experience scaling an SRE function from an early stage
- Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc
- Experience with chaos engineering, multi-region architectures, or FinOps practices
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure or reliability tooling
- Experience leading globally distributed teams
