Intake Caseworker

Position Overview
The Intake Caseworker is responsible for the coordination and completion of all tasks, documentation and communication relevant to the provision of intake management and support services for clients beginning with pre-admission and ending with discharge.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Admit new clients, including entering the client into the Electronic Record system; complete all corresponding documentation and distribution of admission information to appropriate staff; facilitate client introduction to Center Administration if necessary.
  • Assist the Clinical Supervisor with the tracking and audit of Clinical Documentation.
  • Complete the Biopsychosocial section of the Diagnostic Evaluation for all clients admitted under Diagnostic Services. Verbally present this report at all ITT meetings and client court hearings as required.
  • Participate in treatment planning by distributing ITT meeting schedules to Treatment Team and mailing invitations to collateral participants, organizing and arranging ITT agendas and facilitating participation, finalizing required documentation, auditing treatment plans, scheduling psychiatric and psychological examinations, and mailing finalized Treatment Plans to referral sources and families.
  • Assist with managing the milieu by providing coverage when requested by supervision, transporting clients to court hearings, school and Therapeutic Leave departures, monitoring individual clients when requested by supervision and administering client medications as per KidsPeace Policy MH.A. 02 Psychotropic Medication. Participation in the on-call rotation for the Diagnostic Program.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience with acute emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred.
  • Demonstrated written, organizational and time management skills required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, flexible hours, and overtime as required.
