Job Description
The Area Assistant General Manager helps keep three or more hotels running at their best by leading operations in the absence of the General Manager or Manager on Duty and driving profitability through revenue growth, cost control, guest satisfaction, and team development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Operations in Motion
- Oversee daily hotel operations and step in for the General Manager or Manager on Duty as needed.
- Provide M.O.D. coverage, support on-property meetings, and address operational issues with leadership.
- Partner with Department Heads to build cross-functional knowledge and strengthen hotel performance.
People First Leadership
- Support recruiting, hiring, training, and development for hourly and management teams, including regular check-ins with Department Heads.
- Promote empowered, service-focused leadership to strengthen team performance and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure service standards training is delivered consistently across departments.
Guest Experience at the Center
- Lead with a friendly, service-focused approach in every guest and team interaction.
- Maintain a visible presence during peak hours to greet guests, offer support, and ensure a seamless experience.
Revenue & Results
- Drive revenue through on-site client engagement, evening functions, and partnership with the Sales team.
- Support financial reporting and meet all corporate and property deadlines.
Standards, Safety & Accountability
- Uphold Aimbridge and brand standards for attendance, appearance, safety, and compliance.
- Maintain required certifications, including Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid, as applicable.
- Follow secure cash-handling procedures, including hotel safe oversight and monthly audits.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 5+ years of progressive hotel Rooms or F&B experience, or a combination of relevant degree and 2 to 4 years of hotel operations experience.
- Previous supervisory experience required, with strong judgment and quick decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Windows-based systems and comfortable working with financial data and basic math.
- Able to stay composed and effective in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and guest service skills, with the ability to resolve concerns and adapt to changing needs.
