Cardiology experience required
Job Overview:
An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in cardiology such as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) assesses, diagnoses, and treats cardiovascular diseases under the supervision or collaboration of a physician
They manage patient care, interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications across both outpatient clinics and inpatient hospital settings
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Management: Conduct comprehensive physical exams, review health histories, and develop evidence-based treatment plans for general cardiology or specialty areas like heart failure or electrophysiology
- Diagnostic Interpretation: Order and evaluate diagnostic tests including EKGs, lab work, stress tests, and echocardiograms
- Procedural Care: Assist with pre- and post-procedural care for interventions such as cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker/ICD implantations, or ablations,
- Care Coordination: Provide patient and family education regarding lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and device management, while ensuring seamless discharge planning,
- Collaboration: Act as a primary point of contact and liaison between the patient, nursing staff, attending physicians, and referring providers,
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Licensing:
- Must hold an active, state-specific APN Nurse Practitioner or PA-C Physician Assistant license
- Certifications: National board certification e,g,
- NCCPA for PAs, or ANCC/AANP for NPs, alongside active BLS and ACLS certifications,
Clinical Skills: Advanced pharmacological knowledge and the ability to interpret complex telemetry or cardiac device data
Cardioloy experience a must
