Painter in Tulsa, Oklahoma at American Power Innovations, LLC

American Power Innovations, a well-established and rapidly growing electrical products and skid mounted equipment manufacturer, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of an Industrial Painter/Sandblaster.

This position is responsible for the preparing and painting of steel skids, piping, electric motors, blowers, and pumps using brushes, rollers, and spray machines, sometimes requiring the need to mix colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency. The ideal candidate will be someone that takes pride in their work, paying close attention to detail while taking initiative to constantly learn new things and strive to make the entire team successful.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the surface to be painted
• Sand or grind away imperfections
• Carefully clean the surface to be free of dust or dirt
• Knowledge of working with sprayer and lifts
• Carefully mask parts of the product with paper or tape
• Remove other parts that aren't painted
• Knowledge of control temperature, humidity, and other factors that determine how a coat of paint dries
• Knowledge of painting techniques
• Knowledge of how to adjust the flow and viscosity of the paint
• Familiarity with 2-part epoxy paint materials
• Knowledge of spray foam insulation application helpful
• Must be able to disassemble and reassemble painting equipment for cleaning
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and/or weekends

Qualifications:

• 7-10 years industrial painting experience preferred
• Ability to perform frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Must be able to work in a team environment to help achieve production goals
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions

Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
