As an Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans that help patients maximize function, independence, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and establish measurable patient goals.
- Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions and treatments.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, outcomes, and home programs.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Document evaluations, treatments, and outcomes accurately within the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide recommendations regarding patient discharge planning and ongoing care needs.
- Supervise and provide direction to COTAs, therapy aides, students, and support staff as appropriate.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, departmental initiatives, and quality improvement activities.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Current Indiana Occupational Therapy License or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Current BLS/CPR Certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
- Experience utilizing occupational therapy equipment, ADL adaptive devices, splinting materials, and rehabilitation technology.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, and team members.
This Occupational Therapist position works in a dynamic patient care setting requiring physical activity, patient handling, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Therapists may work varied schedules, including occasional weekends, based on department needs.
