Summary:

Dean Mead, a full-service Florida Business law firm, is seeking a full-time Commercial Real Estate Legal Assistant to work in our Orlando office. Candidates should have a strong background supporting multiple attorneys in commercial real estate practices. The ideal candidate is organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities, and able to work with limited supervision.

A minimum of three years’ experience as a Legal Assistant in Commercial Real Estate required. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft and PDF products and have proven experience using legal document management softwares. Duties and Responsibilities:

Draft and review contracts, such as purchase agreements, leases, loan agreements, and promissory notes.

Prepare closing statements and review closing statements prepared by others.

Prepare closing checks and bank drafts for disbursement at closing, based on client’s instructions.

Prepare closing packages consisting of all documentation needed to close a transaction, including title reports, surveys, environmental assessments, appraisals, loan approval letters from banks, etc.

Maintain real estate transaction records, including title reports, appraisals, inspection reports, surveys, tax records, and deeds.

Other administrative duties, as assigned by attorneys and managers.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Highly detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage shifting priorities.

Excellent written communication and proof-reading skills.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of 3+ years Legal Assistant experience in a commercial real estate practice (Required).

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF (Required).

Experience with document management and legal accounting softwares (Required). Experience with iManage (Preferred).

Florida Notary (Preferred).

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:

This position reports to work in-person at our Orlando office.
