Join Our Team! Lavelle Industries Inc. is hiring for a Shipping & Logistics Coordinator at our Whitewater, WI facility.

In this role, you will play a key role in supporting daily shipping and logistics operations while ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time. This position serves as a critical link between Customer Service, Production, Shipping, and transportation partners, helping to coordinate order fulfillment, customer routing requirements, carrier scheduling, inventory activities, and logistics execution.

The Shipping & Logistics Coordinator owns key shipping processes, maintains customer routing and shipment information, coordinates carrier pickups, prepares shipping documentation, and works closely with internal teams to quickly resolve shipping and logistics challenges. This role is essential to supporting efficient operations and delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

The Shipping & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting shipping operations, customer requirements, inventory accuracy, and material flow while coordinating daily logistics activities across the organization.

• Manage daily shipping orders and prioritize shipments based on customer requirements and business needs.
• Maintain customer routing instructions and scheduling requirements through customer portals for Burlington and Whitewater operations, with primary responsibility for Whitewater.
• Create and manage shipment identification numbers and related documentation.
• Coordinate pickup schedules with carriers and communicate timing to Burlington and Whitewater shipping teams.
• Follow up with carriers and internal teams to resolve missed pickups, delays, and transportation issues.
• Serve as a liaison between Customer Service and Shipping to ensure timely communication and execution of customer requirements.
• Prepare export documentation and other shipping paperwork as required.
• Assist with inventory cycle counting activities and inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Support shipping-related continuous improvement projects, Lean initiatives, and Kaizen events.
• Participate in the development and training of shipping personnel.
• Pick, process, and stage orders as needed to support departmental requirements.
• Verify shipment transactions and maintain accurate records within company systems.
• Communicate shipping priorities, schedule changes, and transportation issues to Operations and supporting departments.
• Escalate shipping, inventory, carrier, and customer service concerns to the Shipping Supervisor.
• Collaborate with Production Control, Customer Service, Billing, Shipping Leads, and Operations to ensure successful order fulfillment.
• Identify and implement improvements to shipping processes, inventory management, and logistics execution.
• Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and process standardization to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor

Experience:

The successful candidate will bring a combination of shipping, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to this position.

• High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous shipping, logistics, warehouse, or transportation experience preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Experience working with customer portals, routing requirements, and transportation carriers preferred.
• Experience with inventory management, cycle counting, or ERP systems is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and follow through on commitments.
• Strong customer service mindset and sense of urgency.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles is a plus

Work Environment:

This position operates in both a manufacturing plant and office environment and requires regular interaction with production personnel, shipping staff, customer service representatives, carriers, and other cross-functional teams.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
• Ability to walk and travel throughout production and warehouse areas.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds.
