Job Description

MuleSoft Integration Developer (Veeva Vault)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a MuleSoft Integration Developer (Veeva Vault) based in Ireland.

This is a remote contract opportunity for an experienced integration developer supporting enterprise systems within the pharmaceutical industry. You will design, develop, and deploy integrations connecting Veeva Vault with other business-critical platforms. The role combines hands-on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform development with practical knowledge of Veeva Vault APIs, authentication, objects, and metadata. You will build reliable API-led and event-driven integrations supporting both real-time and batch data flows. Reliability is central to the role, with a focus on error handling, retries, and idempotent processing. This opportunity is well suited to a technically strong integration specialist who can work independently in a project-focused environment.

Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs and integration flows using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Build enterprise integrations connecting Veeva Vault with other business and technology systems.
  • Configure MuleSoft connectors and implement reliable integrations with Veeva Vault.
  • Work with Veeva Vault APIs, authentication mechanisms, objects, metadata, and related data structures.
  • Design and implement API-led connectivity patterns to support scalable enterprise integrations.
  • Develop publish/subscribe messaging patterns where required by integration architecture.
  • Implement both batch and real-time data synchronization processes.
  • Build robust integration flows with appropriate error handling and recovery mechanisms.
  • Implement retry strategies to improve reliability and resilience across integration processes.
  • Apply idempotency patterns to prevent duplicate processing and maintain data integrity.
  • Design integrations with appropriate handling of failures, exceptions, and downstream system issues.
  • Deploy integration applications using MuleSoft CloudHub or Runtime Fabric (RTF).
  • Participate in the full development lifecycle from integration design through implementation and deployment.
  • Collaborate with relevant technical and business stakeholders to understand integration requirements.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and refine solutions to ensure stable production operation.
  • Apply API integration best practices across REST, SOAP, and related enterprise integration technologies.
Requirements:
  • 4–7 years of total IT experience, including at least 2–3 years of hands-on MuleSoft/Anypoint Platform development.
  • Strong practical experience developing integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs, integration flows, and MuleSoft connectors.
  • Practical understanding of API design principles and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Working knowledge of Veeva Vault APIs, authentication mechanisms, objects, and metadata.
  • Sufficient understanding of the Veeva Vault data and object model to independently develop integrations.
  • Experience with API integration technologies, particularly REST and SOAP.
  • Understanding of API-led connectivity and its application to enterprise integration architectures.
  • Experience implementing publish/subscribe messaging patterns.
  • Understanding of the differences between batch and real-time data synchronization and when to apply each approach.
  • Hands-on experience implementing error handling, retry mechanisms, and idempotency.
  • Ability to design integrations that minimize duplicate processing and maintain data consistency.
  • Experience deploying MuleSoft applications using CloudHub and/or Runtime Fabric (RTF).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for diagnosing integration and API issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage technical responsibilities effectively.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills when working with technical stakeholders and project teams.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous.
Benefits:
  • Remote working opportunity.
  • Location: Europe, with the role based in the Netherlands.
  • Freelance / Contract engagement.
  • Start date: October 2026.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Opportunity to work on enterprise integration projects within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Hands-on exposure to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Veeva Vault integration technologies.
  • Opportunity to work with API-led connectivity, real-time and batch integration, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Technical environment focused on reliable, scalable, and resilient system integrations.
