Position Summary

Epoch Catering at Vibe Credit Union Showplace is seeking dependable and hardworking individuals to join our team as **Banquet Houseman / Set-Up Staff**.

This position is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down event spaces for banquets, conventions, meetings, weddings, trade shows, and other events. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced event environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Set up and break down banquet rooms, ballrooms, meeting rooms, and event spaces according to floorplans, BEOs, and supervisor instructions.

* Move and arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, risers, podiums, and other event equipment.

* Assist with room flips and event changeovers within established timelines.

* Read and follow event diagrams, floorplans, BEOs, and daily setup instructions.

* Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready event spaces throughout the facility.

* Assist with moving and transporting equipment and supplies using carts and other approved equipment.

* Assist with linen placement and other event setup requirements.

* Remove trash, debris, and equipment following events and maintain designated areas in an orderly condition.

* Work closely with supervisors, banquet staff, event coordinators, and other departments to ensure event requirements are met.

* Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or setup discrepancies to management.

* Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and proper lifting practices.

* Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with clients, guests, vendors, and coworkers.

* Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

* Previous banquet, hospitality, hotel, convention center, or event setup experience is helpful but not required.

* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

* Strong teamwork and communication skills.

* Dependable and punctual with a positive attitude.

* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

* Willingness to work flexible hours based on event schedules.

* Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

* Ability to safely lift, move, push, and pull event equipment and furniture.

Physical Requirements

This position is physically active and requires the ability to:

* Stand and walk for extended periods.

* Lift, carry, push, and pull tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies.

* Bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks.

* Move equipment throughout a large convention center.

* Work indoors and outdoors, including loading docks and event setup areas.

* Safely perform physical tasks associated with event setup and breakdown.

Work Environment
