Description:

The QUALITY ASSURANCE TEST TECHNICIAN is responsible for performing comprehensive testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and interconnect products. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and Greatlink’s high-quality requirements before shipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical testing of production cable assemblies and wire harnesses according to customer drawings, specifications, and Greatlink test procedures.
  • Set up and operate various test equipment including network analyzers, pull testers, multimeters, hipot testers, and continuity testers.
  • Build, troubleshoot, and diagnose test failures on electrical and mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Record accurate test data, maintain test logs, and generate inspection reports.
  • Identify and document non-conformances, coordinate rework with assembly teams, and verify corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain test fixtures and equipment as needed.
  • Inspect, test, and measure materials and finished products to verify conformance to requirements.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests.
  • Monitor production processes and recommend improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while complying with all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Continuously update job knowledge through training, technical publications, and industry resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPECTATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cable assembly, wire harness manufacturing, and testing.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience building, assembling, and testing high-power or high-voltage products is strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, and manufacturing/test documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with common assembly hand tools, soldering stations, electrical meters, and testing equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly document test results and troubleshooting findings.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and workmanship.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with high-voltage / high-power cable testing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–10 hours per day) on the production floor.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for repetitive tasks such as operating test equipment, using hand tools, crimping, soldering, and performing detailed inspections.
  • Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and stooping.
  • Excellent close-up vision (with or without correction) and ability to distinguish colors for detailed inspection and wire identification.
  • Ability to hear normal conversation, instructions, and safety alarms in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for full shifts, including safety glasses, ESD wrist straps, and hearing protection when necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily works on the production floor in a light industrial setting.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels from machinery and test equipment (hearing protection may be required in designated areas).
  • Regular exposure to soldering fumes, fluxes, and cleaning chemicals (with proper ventilation and PPE).
  • Temperature variations typical of a manufacturing facility.
  • Fast-paced environment with strict quality and safety standards.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE (safety glasses, etc.).
