Job Description
At Hands of Heartland, we believe that people with developmental disabilities are people first. We are looking for a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), or Licensed Psychologist. This position works with children and adolescents who have developmental disabilities as well as behavioral support needs and mental illness, and will be responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of behavior management programming; psychological assessment, program design, psychological intervention, and participation in the development of individualized program plans; for providing training and consultation to staff as requested.
WHO WE ARE:
- The Laura Dester Children’s Center is an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) that serves adolescents and children with intellectual disabilities.
- All of our clients are in DHS Custody and have co-occurring mental health illnesses.
- Our campus is Licensed for 25 Clients.
- Our campus is set up in 3 Cottage Style housing Units, housing 8-9 Clients each.
- The facility has 3 full-time BCBA’s and/or Psychologists (1 assigned per Cottage).
- The BCBA’s and Psychologists are supervised by a PhD level Clinical Services Manager.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Selects, designs, implements, and evaluates performance of interventions to modify inappropriate client behavior, including presentation of Protective Intervention Plans (PIPs)
- Review processes regarding technical, human rights, and informed consent issues.
- Conducts psychological and behavioral assessments of consumers/clients.
- Functions as a member of the onsite management team through communication, collaboration, research, strategic analysis of quality indicators, special projects, and committee participation within the area of expertise.
- Participates as an Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) member and consults with other IDT members, and provides classroom and on-the-job training regarding issues of assessment, habilitation training design, and implementation to professional and paraprofessional personnel.
- Teaches effective use of Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Provides pre-placement training to potential providers
HOURS NEEDED:
- Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm (flexibility is allowed for earlier /later start/end times at 8 hrs per day
- Works as a part of the Management Team as Officer of the Day rotation on-call status one weekend approximately every 8-10 weeks
SKILLS NEEDED:
- Doctorate in psychology from an accredited institution of higher learning, AND
- Licensed as a psychologist in the State of Oklahoma, OR
- Master or Doctorate in Applied Behavior Analysis, AND
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst as certified by the State of Oklahoma
