About the Role
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment. This role ensures minimal downtime by performing preventative maintenance and responding quickly to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues related to sanding lines, spray booths, conveyors, and finishing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on sanding equipment, spray booths, finishing lines, conveyors, dust collection systems, and air compressors.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement timely solutions to reduce downtime.
- Maintain and repair paint pumps, spray guns, curing ovens, and ventilation systems.
- Perform routine inspections of motors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, and drive systems.
- Assist with installation and setup of new equipment and production lines.
- Maintain dust collection and filtration systems to ensure proper environmental compliance and safety.
- Keep accurate maintenance records, logs, and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and facility safety standards.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule repairs with minimal disruption.
- Maintain organized tools, parts inventory, and maintenance workspace.

- Edge & Profile Sanding Machine
- 6 Head Drilling CNC Machine
- MB Roba Fusion
- High school diploma or GED; technical training or trade certification required.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (woodworking, cabinet manufacturing, or finishing facility preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems (120V/240V/480V preferred).
- Experience with sanding equipment, finishing lines, paint systems, and dust collection systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
- Forklift and/or lift certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a production environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working around machinery, noise, dust, and paint/finishing materials.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dust, paint fumes, and mechanical equipment.
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work to support production demands.
