This role is a high-impact consulting position focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-grade virtualization solutions on OpenShift. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding organizations through the transformation of legacy virtualization environments into modern, cloud-native architectures. The role combines deep hands-on engineering with strategic consulting, including architecture design, migration planning, and customer enablement. You will work directly with client IT leadership teams to define modernization roadmaps and deliver scalable, secure, and automated infrastructures. This is a highly dynamic position involving on-site engagements, technical leadership, and collaboration with global teams. It is ideal for professionals who thrive in complex environments and enjoy solving large-scale infrastructure challenges.
- Lead architecture discovery workshops to assess legacy virtualization environments and design future-state OpenShift Virtualization solutions.
- Develop migration strategies using tools such as the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) to enable large-scale workload transitions.
- Provide strategic advisory support to client leadership, including roadmap definition and business value justification for modernization initiatives.
- Design, deploy, and secure OpenShift clusters across bare-metal and hybrid-cloud infrastructures.
- Implement advanced networking configurations (SR-IOV, OVN-Kubernetes, Multus) and software-defined storage solutions such as OpenShift Data Foundation and Ceph.
- Build automation pipelines using Ansible and ArgoCD to support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for both containers and virtual machines.
- Enable Day-2 operations through mentoring, troubleshooting guidance, and best practices in monitoring, backup, and recovery.
- Develop reusable automation assets and contribute to internal engineering communities and knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Support clients in performance optimization, scaling, and operational stability of OpenShift environments.
- Act as a technical bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders throughout transformation programs.
- Extensive experience with OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt) and legacy hypervisors such as VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
- Strong background in virtualization architecture, infrastructure modernization, and large-scale enterprise environments.
- Hands-on expertise in bare-metal deployments and hardware provisioning tools such as Metal3 and Ironic.
- Deep knowledge of networking concepts including L2/L3 networking, load balancing, and CNI technologies (OVN-Kubernetes, Calico).
- Strong experience with distributed storage systems such as Ceph and OpenShift Data Foundation, including performance tuning (NVMe).
- Advanced proficiency in automation tools including Ansible (playbooks, roles) and Terraform.
- Strong Linux (RHEL) administration skills and Kubernetes security expertise (RBAC, Network Policies, SELinux).
- Ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and automated cloud-native infrastructure solutions.
- Excellent consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills with client-facing experience.
- Preferred certifications: EX316 (OpenShift Virtualization), RHCE, EX280 or equivalent Red Hat certifications.
- Willingness to travel extensively (30–40 weeks per year in India).
- Active security clearance may be required for certain public sector engagements.
- Competitive compensation with comprehensive benefits package.
- Flexible working models including remote, hybrid, and on-site engagement options depending on role requirements.
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge OpenShift and cloud-native transformation projects.
- Continuous learning and certification support in Red Hat technologies and enterprise platforms.
- Exposure to large-scale enterprise clients and complex infrastructure modernization programs.
- Inclusive, collaborative, and innovation-driven work culture.
- Career growth opportunities within a global open-source technology leader.
- Strong emphasis on knowledge sharing, mentorship, and technical community involvement.
