Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Chief Manufacturing Engineer in United States.
This role sits at the intersection of advanced aerospace engineering and large-scale industrial execution, leading the design, development, and continuous improvement of complex manufacturing systems. You will drive the industrialization of new products, oversee major modifications, and ensure seamless transfers of work across global production sites. Acting as both a technical authority and customer-facing representative, you will influence critical decisions impacting cost, quality, and delivery performance. The position requires strong leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams and close collaboration with production, quality, and program stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring manufacturing systems meet stringent aerospace regulatory standards while advancing Zero Defect Manufacturing principles. Operating in a dynamic, global environment, you will help shape scalable, efficient, and innovative production capabilities that support next-generation aerospace programs.
Lead the development and approval of manufacturing system definitions and performance targets during program launch, ensuring technical feasibility, cost alignment, and risk identification in collaboration with industrial architecture and program teams.
- Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI), Transfers of Work, and major modification programs from launch through steady-state production, ensuring delivery against technical, cost, schedule, and regulatory requirements.
- Own non-recurring engineering estimates and ensure accurate planning, budgeting, and execution of manufacturing engineering deliverables.
- Lead and coordinate manufacturing engineering teams and resources, providing technical direction, workload prioritization, and performance oversight.
- Monitor manufacturing system performance through KPIs and industrial reviews, driving corrective actions to maintain productivity and quality targets.
- Ensure compliance with Zero Defect Manufacturing and APQP standards (AS9145), embedding a strong quality-first mindset across all activities.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure alignment and clear communication across programs.
This role requires extensive experience in manufacturing engineering within complex, regulated environments, ideally aerospace or similarly advanced industries, along with proven leadership in driving large-scale technical programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience (typically 8+ years in manufacturing engineering roles).
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, including exposure to ISO9000 or AS9100 quality systems.
- Proven experience in NPI and industrialization through structured lifecycle gate processes.
- Strong background in leading cross-functional engineering teams and managing technical projects in multi-site or global environments.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver manufacturing process improvements and track performance through defined metrics.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems, production processes, and industrial engineering principles with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Must be eligible as a U.S. Person in accordance with ITAR/export control regulations.
- Remote flexibility with occasional domestic and international travel (25–50%).
- Opportunity to lead high-impact aerospace manufacturing programs across global operations.
- Strong emphasis on professional development and advanced technical training opportunities.
- Exposure to cutting-edge aerospace technologies and large-scale industrial transformation programs.
- Collaborative, inclusive, and innovation-driven work culture.
- Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and responsibilities (details provided during hiring process).
- Career growth opportunities within a global engineering organization.
