Overview
ITT Inc. is hiring an Electro-Mechanical Product Design Engineer with mid-level development experience in the connector industry to join the ITT Cannon Connectors North America team.
Responsibilities
- General engineering product setup, design and management
- Engineering BOM creation, documentation creation and updates
- Design of new components and assemblies
- Manage and plan multiple activities related to Engineering, Product Management and Operational support for new product development
- Multi-functional team member representing Product Engineering
- Testing support and overview within a Product Evaluation Lab
- Work closely with Field Application Engineering
- Requires visibility to export controlled documents and information
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years’ experience in Electro-Mechanical product design, preferably in connectors
- CREO Parametric 3D Modeling/Documentation experience
- ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing, including GD&T
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Highly self-motivated and a willingness to make a difference
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with different departments.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, Word etc...
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in electrical connectors and the Aerospace & Defense industry.
- Experience in Filters, Fiber Optics, Micro-miniature and/or High-Speed Data transfer a plus
- Knowledge in the use of high-performance thermoplastics, aluminums and copper alloys and the manufacturing requirements needed to utilize them
- Knowledge in MIL-DTL, Mil-STD and similar industry specifications and requirements.
- Experience in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) principles.
- The ability to travel periodically (up to 20%)
