Job Description
CNC Industries, a Kadon Company, is a leading aerospace manufacturer seeking an experienced Machinist – Mill Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for operating CNC milling machines to manufacture high-precision aerospace components that meet customer specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of CNC machining experience, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision aerospace components.
- Load and unload parts while monitoring machine performance throughout production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Verify parts meet quality standards and required tolerances.
- Make tool wear offsets and minor machine adjustments as needed.
- Replace tooling and maintain proper tool life.
- Report machine, tooling, or quality issues promptly.
- Accurately complete production and inspection documentation.
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work closely with supervisors, quality personnel, engineers, and team members to meet production schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of three (3) years of CNC machining experience required.
- Experience operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Understanding of GD&T and precision machining practices.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience machining aerospace components or other high-precision manufactured parts.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards and Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
