Under the supervision of the Director of STAIR, the Institutional Research Analyst II -
Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness position performs professional-level responsibilities that advance Clark
University's assessment, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and evidence-informed decision-making activities for
the STAIR Office. This position will also contribute to some of the core Institutional Research functions of the STAIR
Office on an as-needed basis. The incumbent exercises sound professional judgment, manages assigned projects
independently, and collaborates with university stakeholders while receiving strategic direction from the Director of
STAIR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Survey Research, Applied Analytics, and Institutional Research Business Continuity (20%)
2. Academic & Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) Assessment (20%)
3. Administrative, Co-Curricular, Research Center & Specialized Unit Assessment (20%)
4. Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness (15%)
5. Campus Consultation, Assessment Training and Capacity Building (15%)
6. Professional Development, Process Documentation, and Operational Support (10%)

Job Requirements:

Education Level:

• Required -Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education Administration, Educational Research, Assessment and Evaluation, Institutional Research, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Data Science, or a closely related quantitative or research-oriented field.
• Preferred - Master's degree or above in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Educational Research, Institutional Research, Assessment and Evaluation, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Public Policy, or a related discipline. Doctoral degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) in a related field is desirable but not required.

Years of relevant experience: Three (3) to four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience in higher education assessment, institutional research, institutional effectiveness, program evaluation, educational research, strategic analytics, or a related field.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of Core IR Reporting functions vis-a-vis external surveys such IPEDS, USNWR, Times Higher Ed., etc.
• 3-4 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, including the management of medium to large data sets.
• Demonstrated knowledge of statistical techniques, mixed research methods, and the interpretation and presentation of results. This includes intermediate/advanced proficiency with statistics packages (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, Data Analytics tools with AI) and other software to manage. Data presentation expertise using various presentation and dash-boarding tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI , Excel, PowerPoint, Claude)
• Expertise in Survey design, implementation, and the analysis and presentation of survey results; familiarity with survey tools such as Qualtrics.
• Strong knowledge of academic and non-academic assessment, as well as storage and maintenance of the institution's assessment assets.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated experience writing and presenting findings?Self-motivated and able to work productively and manage multiple projects.
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail; able to adapt with changing priorities

Preferred Skills:

• Strong knowledge of institutional research and assessment. Experience with qualitative and quantitative methodologies, such as conducting interviews or focus groups, administering surveys, and experience generating models using data science.
• Intermediate-to-advanced Tableau skills.
• Ability to collaborate with people from a variety of backgrounds and experience with research.
• Ability to develop and conduct training sessions on assessment.
• Interest and curiosity about student success in higher education.

Additional Information:

Expected Hiring Range: $71,600 to $90,750

The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials. This range represents Clark University's good-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clark's compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
