The Squad Assistant Manager (SAM) supports the Squad General Manager in leading the daily operations of the Can. The SAM plays a key role in developing the team, delivering an outstanding guest experience, and ensuring operational standards are consistently achieved.

The SAM should be a hands-on leader who leads by example, supports the Squad, and is prepared to take ownership of the Can when the Squad General Manager is not present.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the SGM with all day-to-day restaurant operations
• Lead shifts and ensure smooth execution during all dayparts
• Coach, train, and develop Squad Team Leaders and Squad Members
• Help create a positive culture built around teamwork, accountability, and guest service
• Ensure proper deployment and positioning of Squad Members during shifts
• Monitor speed of service, order accuracy, food quality, and hospitality
• Support scheduling and staffing based on business needs
• Help manage labor performance and productivity
• Assist with inventory, ordering, food cost, waste, and controllable expenses
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and restaurant appearance
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and company procedures are followed
• Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve restaurant performance
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention efforts
• Take ownership of the Can and make sound operational decisions in the SGM’s absence
• Lead by example and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency during peak periods

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous restaurant leadership or management experience preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable
• Guest-focused and team-oriented mindset
• Understanding of restaurant operations, labor, food cost, and inventory
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of restaurant operations
