The Sr. Consultant - Business Intelligence will play a key role in transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
This position focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-level dashboards, reports, and visualization solutions.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and technical partners to translate requirements into scalable reporting tools.
The role requires strong expertise in Tableau, Power BI, SQL, and data modeling, combined with a passion for improving how organizations use data.

The Sr. Consultant - Business Intelligence will be responsible for delivering high-quality business intelligence solutions that improve reporting capabilities, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. This role requires strong technical expertise, stakeholder collaboration, and ownership of reporting initiatives from requirements gathering through implementation.
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau and Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions that support business objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate business requirements into effective data visualization strategies.
- Connect BI platforms to multiple data sources, including SQL databases, cloud platforms, data warehouses, and flat-file sources.
- Build and optimize data models, calculations, parameters, filters, and dashboard interactions to improve usability and performance.
- Develop automated reporting solutions that increase accessibility to insights and reduce manual reporting efforts.
- Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting outputs.
- Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database views to support analytics and reporting requirements.
- Monitor dashboard performance and implement optimization strategies to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Create and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, reporting guides, and technical documentation.
- Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, and business teams to support enterprise reporting initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and reporting standards.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to end users on BI tools, reporting best practices, and dashboard usage.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in business intelligence development, data visualization, and enterprise reporting. You should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and partnering with business teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing Tableau and/or Power BI solutions within enterprise environments.
- Advanced expertise with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Cloud.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying, transforming, and analyzing large datasets.
- Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes.
- Experience designing KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn business questions into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities effectively, and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong experience with data visualization best practices and user-focused reporting design.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Tableau Desktop Certified Professional or Tableau Certified Data Analyst certification.
- Experience with Power BI, SSRS, Cognos, Business Objects, or other BI platforms.
- Knowledge of Python, R, or other programming languages used for analytics.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience supporting industries such as healthcare, finance, retail, manufacturing, or consulting.
- Experience delivering BI solutions directly to external clients.

- Estimated compensation range of $125,000 - $150,000 USD depending on experience, skills, education, location, and internal equity.
