The position focuses on improving developer productivity through advanced CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and self-service engineering capabilities. You will contribute to modern cloud architectures while solving complex challenges related to scalability, performance, and operational excellence. Working closely with software engineering teams, you will help shape secure, efficient, and resilient application platforms. The Senior Software Engineer – Platform Engineering will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud platform capabilities that support modern software delivery and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining cloud-native application platforms using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
- Deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, including Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE).
- Creating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and automation frameworks.
- Building reusable platform components, deployment automation, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams.
- Improving deployment reliability through automated validation, rollback strategies, and release orchestration.
- Collaborating with software engineering teams to troubleshoot production issues and improve application stability.
- Monitoring application health, infrastructure performance, and system availability using observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
- Implementing cloud security best practices, including secrets management, SSL certificate management, and access controls.
- Optimizing cloud infrastructure usage, scalability, availability, and operational costs.
- Automating operational processes using Python, Node.js, Bash, or similar scripting technologies.
- Supporting production releases, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Documenting platform architecture, deployment processes, operational procedures, and engineering standards.
- Contributing to cloud modernization initiatives and the adoption of scalable engineering practices.
The ideal candidate is an experienced platform or cloud engineer with strong software development skills and expertise in cloud-native technologies, automation, and infrastructure management. Required qualifications and skills include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes environments, preferably Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE).
- Strong experience with Docker and containerized application deployments.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code practices, particularly Terraform.
- Strong Linux administration skills and experience with shell scripting.
- Proficiency in Python or Node.js for automation, deployment tooling, and operational scripting.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, SSL/TLS, firewalls, and cloud networking.
- Experience working with Git and modern software development workflows.
- Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and production environments.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with Helm Charts and GitOps practices using tools such as ArgoCD.
- Experience with Cloudflare services, including CDN, DNS, WAF, Load Balancing, and Tunnel configurations.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
- Familiarity with microservices architectures and cloud-native application design.
- Experience with security scanning, vulnerability management, and infrastructure hardening.
- Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and resource utilization strategies.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDN) concepts.
- Experience with enterprise virtualization and container platforms such as Proxmox, OKD/OpenShift, or similar technologies.
