ICMS is seeking dependable and motivated Floor Technicians to maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced individual who can provide high-quality service and ensure tenant comfort and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates designated floor equipment to include auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors to strip, scrub, and shampoo and wax floors, all surface cleaners, or other larger mechanical machines as a primary duty. Must demonstrate proficiency in operating these machines.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with defined schedules and frequencies
- Uses the proper procedures on carpet and upholstering (shampooing, damp surface, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming).
- Uses various tools, equipment, and cleaning materials including hand scrubbing and polishing equipment, vacuum cleaners, commercial buffer, broom, dust brush, dustpan, wet and dry mop, bucket mop wringer, special cleaning solution, and chemical cleaners.
- Performs other duties assigned which include but are not limited to general custodial tasks; collecting garbage and recycling; stocking supplies, assists with moving of furniture/equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
- Minimum of two years of floor experience required; experience with the above-mentioned flooring machines.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read and write; able to read labels on cleaning and detergent materials, disinfecting solutions, and so forth.
- Interact and/or work with staff and visitors in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Ability to work various shifts, including outside normal working hours; position may require occasional call-ins.
- US Citizenship required and ability to pass a government clearance.
- Experience working in a government facility.
- Read ID and dependable transportation to/ from work location
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to climb ladders, use power tools, and perform heavy physical labor as needed
- Exposure to wet, humid conditions, chemicals, fumes, and dust
- Requires ability to walk/ stand for duration of shift
- Capable of lifting to 25lbs.
- Ability to use equipment in back-and-forth motion consistently.
- Requires consistent bending/ stooping, use of hands, and reaching above head
Security Clearance:
It is mandatory that all Contractor personnel working onsite at federal facilities meet federal government security clearance standards. Minimum investigation at a Public Trust level required.
