Job Description
Colorado TU seeks a candidate to support day-to-day operations and logistics, including coordination with external bookkeeper, data/system management, and event logistics support. A strong candidate will have a degree and/or relevant experience with business and non-profit operations, the ability to work effectively as part of a small team, and a strong interest and commitment to river conservation. The position offers potential growth into an associate executive director role in the future.
The position work plan includes:
- Oversight of customer relationship management systems and processes - including membership import, donor data entry and automations, and assistance with staff and board members on data analyses/applications within the CRM for fundraising, volunteerism and communications. Colorado TU uses Bloomerang as its CRM system.
- Management of financial operations - keeper/collector of financial information and its delivery/review with contract bookkeeping service and Finance Committee.
- Operational/logistics support to core Colorado TU and chapter events including Rendezvous, Gala, Troutfest Colorado.
- Coordination of basic donor communications and automations (renewal letters, tax receipts/thanks, assistance with year-end direct mail and online giving campaigns).
- Handling/directing general inquiries from chapters and others through our office and website as a first point of contact.
- Reviewing and where appropriate improving Colorado TU systems and processes in these areas of activity.
The position is based in Colorado, with a strong preference for Front Range with comfortable access to the Denver Colorado TU office.
Requirements:Strong organization skills and attention to detail. A college degree and/or direct experience relevant to business/non-profit operations. Familiarity with database management and operations and with basic bookkeeping practices; direct experience with Bloomerang and Quickbooks is helpful but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in small team settings. Ability to effectively communicate and engage with volunteers. Dedicated commitment to conservation. Ability to travel in Colorado (<10%) and to work some weekend and evening hours when needed on a flexible-schedule basis.
This position is based from Colorado TU’s Denver office, but with some opportunity for hybrid work from an in-state location with comfortable travel access to the Front Range and occasionally with other member/chapter locations statewide. The position will report directly to the Executive Director.
