Estimator in Syracuse, New York at Feldmeier Equipment Inc

Job Description:

The estimator position provides customer proposals in accordance with the specifications provided and industry standards. While meeting company timelines and profitability objectives.

Essential Functions of the Position:

· Review customer inquiries for quotes from both commercial and technical perspectives.

· Review Vendor Documentation Requirements (VDR) and customer specifications.

· Timely preparation of proposals to meet customer specifications.

· Facilitate customer requests and changes regarding scope, delivery, and commercial aspects.

· Follow up on proposals prepared to evaluate effectiveness and success.

· Establish new customer relationships through strategic networking activities.

· Continuous tracking of projects from inception to their successful completion.

· Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing departments.

· Work as customer liaison during project development.

· Establish and maintain vendor and customer relationships.

· Analytical review of all closed projects/ proposals for accuracy and profitability.

· Comply with all Feldmeier safety and Company policies and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

· 2-year degree or equivalent sales experience

· Strong communication skills

· Willingness to Travel

· Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or finance

· Background in engineering or manufacturing

Physical Requirements:

· Required to sit, stand, and walk; for up to 8 hours per day.

· Continuous use of the hand, arm, and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment.

· Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

· Ability to communicate professionally, in written and oral communications.

· Ability to work in a stressful high output environment
