Scale House Operator
Benefits:
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Typical days and work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additional hours are mandatory during peak seasons, October to end of November. Some weekend work will also be required during peak season only.
Summary/Objective
The Grain Scale Operator's responsibilities involve scale operations, customer service, communications, clerical tasks, and other duties as assigned. The operator is responsible for all commodity inbound and outbound tasks, assisting with grain grading and sampling tasks. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. It is important to always represent the company in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner while providing exceptional customer service.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment, that is also fast paced. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers (Microsoft Office programs and email), phones, and photocopiers.

- Provide outstanding customer service skills at all times when greeting and servicing customers.
- Manage inbound grain shipments for customers coming across the truck scale.
- Ability to grade grain and identify foreign materials
- Record test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.
- Perform required record keeping for trucking weighing and accurate grading activities.
- Coordination of delivery numbers, daily inputs, and verification of accuracy.
- Operates on-scale interface system and transfer of data.
- Responds to customer inquiries at the counter.
- Assisting with other office functions as needed.
