Job Description
Inventory/Receiving Specialist
Hansen & Company Woodworks · St. Joseph, MN · Full-Time
The Opportunity
This is the seat that keeps material moving and the line fed. As Inventory/Receiving Specialist at HCo, you own everything that happens the moment a truck pulls up — unloading, quality-checking, counting, and getting material to the right station before anyone on the line ever has to leave their post looking for it. You catch damage before it becomes a problem, keep racking stocked and organized, and run the routes that move product between receiving and the custom shop. This is a high-trust seat: you're the first checkpoint for everything that enters this building, and the standard you hold here protects the investment behind every job on the floor.
HCo is a custom cabinet and architectural millwork manufacturer building the future of American manufacturing — our standard is simple: More than they Expect. This is a real seat at that table.
What You'll Do
- Unload semis, inspect incoming material for quality, count in INNERGY, break down pallets, and keep racking organized and full.
- Identify damaged product on arrival; report damage timely; tag, bag, and prepare damaged product to go back to vendors.
- Run the Ybot — including route programming — to deliver material to the correct station, reducing production downtime and material loss.
- Run scheduled routes between facilities.
- Own the Winstore — all 3 bays — unstrapping bands, counting quantities, and keeping it fully stocked.
What You Bring
- Highly detail oriented & able to handle many tasks at once.
- Background in Quality Control (QC) — you catch problems before they become the next station's problem.
- Comfortable being accountable for high-volume, high-value inventory moving through the building daily.
- Forklift-certified.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Willing and able to obtain a DOT health card to transport product between shops.
- Highly communicative — you flag issues immediately rather than wait to act.
Essential Functions — Physical & On-Site Requirements
This is a hands-on floor role. The following are fundamental to performing the job — not general fitness standards. If you have questions about your ability to meet any of these, reach out; we're glad to talk it through.
- Stand, walk, bend, and reach continuously while unloading trucks and moving material across the facility.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, including breaking down pallets and moving product manually when necessary.
- Operate a forklift safely and follow all facility safety protocols.
- Operate a company vehicle between facilities, requiring a valid DOT health card.
- Work safely around active loading docks, trucks, and material-handling equipment.
- Be physically present on-site for all scheduled shifts — this work cannot be performed remotely.
Nice to Have
- Experience with INNERGY or comparable inventory/ERP software.
- Prior experience in receiving, inventory control, or quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating automated material-handling equipment (robotics, conveyors, or similar).
