The Senior Manager, Clinical Site Payments, Portfolio Management will lead global financial oversight and governance activities related to investigator grant payments across clinical trials. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate reconciliation, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and process improvements while serving as a key connection point between clinical operations and finance teams.

• Lead global portfolio-level oversight of investigator grant payments, ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and alignment with approved budgets and contracts.
• Manage monthly reconciliation activities across site payments, vendor disbursements, financial systems, and accounting records.
• Review vendor payment activities, investigate discrepancies, and drive timely resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain consolidated visibility into payment commitments, accruals, liabilities, and portfolio financial performance.
• Oversee purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice reviews, approvals, and financial lifecycle management for clinical site payments.
• Partner with Finance teams to support monthly close processes, accrual analysis, and Budget vs. Actuals reporting.
• Develop financial models to support forecasting, cash flow projections, scenario analysis, and portfolio risk assessment.
• Analyze operational changes such as enrollment shifts, study delays, vendor strategies, and currency impacts to assess financial implications.
• Own clinical site payment metrics, dashboards, reporting frameworks, and analytics to improve decision-making.
• Ensure payment data alignment with approved budgets, contract terms, and clinical payment classification frameworks.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Finance, Treasury, Sourcing, and payment vendors to optimize processes and support strategic initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with SOX requirements, internal controls, audit standards, and documentation expectations.
• Support external audit preparation by providing accurate financial records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen governance across clinical payment operations.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in clinical trial finance, financial operations, or related areas within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare environments. This role requires advanced analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, biotech, pharmaceuticals, clinical operations, or related industries.
• Prior experience with clinical trial finance, investigator site payments, clinical budgeting, vendor management, or financial operations preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial close processes, accruals, forecasting, and reconciliation activities.
• Experience building and maintaining financial models, cash flow forecasts, and scenario analyses.
• Knowledge of clinical development processes and drug development environments.
• Strong understanding of SOX compliance, financial controls, audit readiness, and governance frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Ariba, or similar platforms.
• Experience using vendor payment platforms and tools such as Smartsheet, SharePoint, and collaboration systems.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, documentation skills, and commitment to audit-ready processes.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively solve problems.
• Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
