Welcome to Windham Mountain Club!

Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY.

Anticipated Start Dates: ITC training dates are as follows once completed your start date will be communicated

ITC dates: certified instructors: 1 weekend

  • November 28–29
  • December 5–6
  • December 12–13

*These start dates are weather dependent

Pay: 19 to 23 per hour based on experience

Seasonal Position: This role is available for the winter season.

Scheduling Expectations: Peak times include weekends, early mornings, and holidays. Weekend availability is required.

Conditions: Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind, and cold temperatures.

Overview of Position: Ski and Snowboard Instructors provide exceptional lesson experiences that help guests achieve their skiing and snowboarding goals. Instructors use strong teaching, technical, and interpersonal skills to deliver safe, engaging lessons for students of all ages and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive prepared for all scheduled lessons and assignments.
  • Teach group and private lessons for children and adults, from beginner to advanced levels.
  • Apply current PSIA/AASI teaching methods and techniques.
  • Ensure guest safety through appropriate terrain selection and class management.
  • Follow all Ski & Ride School policies and safety procedures.
  • Deliver outstanding guest service.
  • Work in varying weather and snow conditions.
  • Ability to adapt lessons to student needs and learning styles.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to assess student performance and provide effective feedback.
  • Communicate effectively and complete required documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 14 years old.
  • PSIA/AASI Level 1 certification (or equivalent) required.
  • Strong skiing/snowboarding ability and knowledge of the Responsibility Code.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ski or snowboard on green and blue terrain for up to 6 hours daily.
  • Work outdoors in winter conditions for extended periods.
  • Safely navigate uneven, snow- and ice-covered terrain.
