Job Description

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Electrician) to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment, industrial ovens, electrical systems, and facility assets. This position plays a critical role in maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing production downtime, and supporting safe, efficient manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude with entry to mid-level electrical troubleshooting experience and is willing to support a wide variety of maintenance activities as business needs require.

Job Accountabilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, industrial ovens, facility systems, and support equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform routine inspections and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
  • Complete maintenance work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, sensors, relays, contactors, limit switches, and control circuits.
  • Assist in diagnosing equipment failures using electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and testing equipment.
  • Support installation, modification, and repair of electrical components and production equipment.
  • Escalate complex electrical issues as necessary while continuing to develop technical knowledge.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities to ensure equipment reliability and extend equipment life.
  • Assist in reducing the PM backlog by completing scheduled maintenance according to established priorities.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective or preventive solutions.

Manufacturing Equipment Support

  • Support troubleshooting and repair of industrial curing ovens, composite manufacturing equipment, compressed air systems, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and other production assets.
  • Assist Operations in responding quickly to equipment-related production interruptions.
  • Support equipment installations, relocations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Safety & Compliance

Perform all maintenance activities in accordance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and environmental requirements.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Ensure maintenance activities comply with company quality standards and aerospace manufacturing requirements.

Teamwork & Collaboration

Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Facilities, and other departments to support manufacturing operations.

Communicate equipment status, repair timelines, and maintenance priorities effectively.

Remain flexible and support additional maintenance duties as assigned based on business needs.

Job Specifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related trade preferred.

Experience

3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.

Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment.

Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs.

Experience with industrial ovens, composite manufacturing equipment, or aerospace manufacturing environments is preferred.

Skills

Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, sensors, relays, and control circuits.

Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment.

General knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and industrial machinery.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.

Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Willingness to learn new equipment, technologies, and maintenance techniques.

First Shift: Monday – Friday
5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Overtime and occasional weekend support may be required based on production needs.
