This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to guide the development of secure, scalable, and data-driven SaaS solutions supporting the insurance, healthcare, and life sciences industries. In this role, you will lead a talented software engineering team while providing technical direction for a cross-functional Agile squad. You will help shape technology and product roadmaps, modernize backend platforms, and drive innovation through cloud-native architectures and AI-assisted engineering practices. Working in a collaborative, remote-first environment, you will partner closely with product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions that power mission-critical products. - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers through hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development initiatives.
- Serve as the technical leader for a cross-functional Scrum team, guiding architecture, design decisions, and engineering best practices.
- Oversee the delivery of scalable backend services, data pipelines, and cloud-based applications while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance.
- Define and maintain technical roadmaps in collaboration with architecture and product teams, balancing innovation, scalability, and technical debt reduction.
- Drive Agile delivery by managing priorities, dependencies, and predictable execution within a SAFe environment.
- Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD practices, secure development, documentation, and operational readiness.
- Support production systems through incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion the responsible adoption of AI-assisted software development practices while maintaining high standards for quality, governance, and security.
- Foster collaboration across engineering, platform, and product teams to ensure alignment and long-term platform evolution.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years managing software engineering teams.
- Proven ability to balance people leadership with strong technical decision-making and architectural guidance.
- Experience designing, building, and operating scalable backend services, distributed systems, and data processing platforms.
- Strong expertise with C#/.NET, RESTful APIs, relational and NoSQL databases, and modern frontend frameworks such as React.
- Extensive experience designing and deploying cloud-native solutions using AWS.
- Solid understanding of microservices, domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, and resilient data systems.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure concepts, observability, and production operations.
- Experience delivering software within Agile environments using Scrum and/or SAFe methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on experience implementing AI-assisted engineering workflows and establishing governance for responsible usage.
- Additional experience with regulated industries, healthcare data, AWS data services, streaming architectures, modern data platforms, cloud migration, or AWS certifications is considered an advantage.
- Competitive salary ranging from $117,500 to $222,985, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
- Fully remote position within the United States with occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and team events.
