This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Electrical Engineer – Power System Studies based in India.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the engineering of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
You will perform critical power system studies supporting solar PV, battery energy storage, and renewable substation facilities.
Your work will help ensure safe, reliable, and grid-compliant integration of clean energy assets.
The position combines technical analysis, system modeling, engineering design, and project documentation.
You will work alongside experienced engineers while developing deeper expertise in power systems and renewable energy applications.
The role also provides opportunities to improve engineering workflows through automation and data-driven tools.
You will collaborate with US-based teams in a globally connected environment focused on accelerating the clean energy transition.
- Perform power system studies including grounding, short-circuit, load flow, arc flash, protective device coordination, ampacity, harmonic, and power quality analyses.
- Develop and maintain electrical system models for utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage systems, collection systems, and renewable generation facilities.
- Support the design, sizing, and routing of medium-voltage collection system cables according to established engineering criteria.
- Prepare technical study reports, calculation packages, engineering documentation, and other project deliverables.
- Conduct power system analyses for utility-scale generation, interconnection, and renewable energy facilities.
- Automate repetitive calculations, data processing, and reporting activities to improve efficiency and study turnaround times.
- Apply relevant IEEE, NESC, NEC, utility, and jurisdictional requirements to assigned studies and designs.
- Perform QA/QC checks on engineering calculations, system models, and supporting data before submission for technical review.
- Follow applicable company, industry, and project safety standards and engineering practices.
- Present study findings, technical questions, assumptions, and open issues during internal project meetings.
- Support senior engineers during discussions with clients and utilities, particularly regarding grounding scope, methodology, and study results.
- Work under the guidance of senior engineers while applying established engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Share analytical methods, templates, technical knowledge, and lessons learned with other members of the engineering team.
- Manage assigned deliverables and deadlines while supporting additional engineering activities as required.
- Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech.) or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Foundational understanding of power systems concepts, including grounding, electrical distribution, generation, transmission, and renewable energy systems.
- Practical experience in power distribution, generation, transmission, solar PV, battery energy storage, or related power engineering environments.
- Working knowledge of power system analysis software such as ETAP, CDEGS, CYMCAP, PSS/E, PSLF, or equivalent platforms.
- Ability to develop, interpret, and validate electrical system models and engineering calculations.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear engineering reports and calculation packages.
- Advanced English proficiency, approximately equivalent to IELTS 7.0+, TOEFL iBT 95+, or PTE 76+, enabling effective collaboration with US-based teams and preparation of technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned engineering activities while collaborating effectively within a broader project team.
- Willingness to work Monday through Friday, approximately 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST, to support international teams.
- Exposure to solar PV, battery energy storage, wind, microgrids, or other renewable energy technologies is desirable.
- Experience with Python or another programming language for engineering calculations, data processing, or reporting automation is preferred.
- Exposure to CDEGS, PSS/E, PSCAD, or similar advanced power system analysis tools is a plus.
- EIT certification is desirable but not required.
- Remote work arrangement in India.
- Annual compensation range of approximately 1,675,000–2,716,000.
