In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The ideal candidate has a valid Texas HVAC license and experience working on complex HVAC systems in industrial or large commercial environments. This full-time day-shift position focuses on preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and responding to mechanical issues that impact facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial HVAC equipment
- Service rooftop units, packaged systems, split systems, air handlers, exhaust fans, ventilation equipment, thermostats, and controls
- Troubleshoot refrigerant, airflow, electrical, and mechanical problems
- Respond promptly to urgent HVAC issues and minimize operational downtime
- Conduct routine equipment checks at multiple dealership locations
- Replace motors, belts, contactors, capacitors, compressors, controls, and other components
- Maintain accurate service records, equipment histories, and preventive-maintenance schedules
- Identify recurring problems and recommend repair or replacement options
- Monitor parts inventory and maintain commonly needed replacement components
- Coordinate specialized repairs with outside contractors when necessary
- Review contractor work and confirm repairs are completed properly
- Follow company, OSHA, EPA, and manufacturer safety requirements
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and company vehicles
Qualifications
- At least 3–5 years of commercial HVAC service or facilities-maintenance experience
- Strong experience diagnosing rooftop and packaged commercial HVAC systems
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, and control-system issues independently
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel between company locations during the workday
- Ability to work on rooftops, climb ladders, work outdoors, and lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to respond to occasional after-hours HVAC emergencies
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining HVAC systems for dealerships, warehouses, fleet facilities, or other multi-building commercial operations
- Experience with building automation systems and commercial HVAC controls
- Texas HVAC technician registration or contractor-level credentials
- Experience using computerized maintenance-management or work-order software
