About the Role
What You’ll Do
What You Bring to the Table
Nclusion is on a mission to provide traditional financial services to 1.5 billion people worldwide without access today. Without a secure way to save, invest, or transfer money, individuals are not empowered to accumulate short or long-term wealth. We're changing that by bridging the gap between traditional banking and the communities that need it most.
As a Product Design Intern, you’ll be mentored by experienced Product Designers and work closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Operations to design thoughtful, inclusive experiences across our product ecosystem. This is a hands-on role for someone excited to learn by doing, contribute to real product work, and help translate complex user needs into intuitive and accessible user experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Support end-to-end product design work, from early research and problem framing through wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to explore solutions for fintech and financial inclusion use cases.
- Create user flows, journey maps, sketches and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas clearly.
- Help conduct user research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to inform product decisions.
- Contribute to design explorations for mobile and web experiences used by consumers, merchants, operations, and/or internal teams.
- Translate product requirements and user insights into simple, accessible, and scalable designs.
- Assist with maintaining and improving design system components, patterns, and documentation.
- Prepare design assets and documentation needed for engineering implementation.
- Participate in design critiques, product reviews and cross-functional working sessions.
- Bring curiosity, fresh perspective, and a point of view on how design can increase financial inclusion.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field, with graduation expected in 2028.
- A portfolio that demonstrates thoughtful design process, problem solving, visual craft, and user empathy.
- Familiarity with common design tools such Figma, Claude Design, Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, and the ability to explain design decisions clearly to cross-functional partners.
- Curiosity about fintech, financial inclusion, emerging markets or products that serve diverse user needs.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and fast paced work environments.
- Highly collaborative with strong growth mindset, including willingness to iterate based on feedback.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn how product, engineering, research, and operations teams work together.
- Experience designing mobile-first or responsive web experiences.
- Exposure to user research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, or journey mapping.
- Interest in accessibility, inclusive design, low-literacy UX, localization, or low-connectivity product experiences.
- Experience working on projects involving payments, financial services, marketplaces, operations tools, or consumer apps.
- Basic understanding of design systems, component libraries, or reusable UI patterns.
- Ability to prototype interactions and communicate product behavior beyond static screens.
- Prior internship, freelance, student project, hackathon, or startup experience in a product design or UX role.
Benefits and Perks
- 💸 Competitive compensation – We believe in sharing success.
- 🍽️ In-office lunch, team events & culture
Hourly pay: $35-45/hr
