Job Description
Purpose: Systems Project Engineering is to provide final detailed review, engineering, and recommendations for the specific application upon formal receipt of a Purchase Order.
• Once a PO is received for a project, they are responsible for reviewing the application (both with the salesperson and reviewing what was documented in the proposal).
• Make recommendations for improvements, enhancements, identify cost saving opportunities, and review with the stakeholders.
• Provide detailed engineering drawings and specifications and prepare the bill of material to be ordered from all suppliers.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform detailed analysis for equipment sold against desired function, and adjust, change as needed while maintaining scope and budget
Develop detailed SOW (mechanical, electrical, Controls, and WCS functionality)Document final detailed engineered specifications to insure successful implementation and operation, and function.Select vendors, defining, finalizing, and documenting the intended use.Prepare detailed drawing packages, for Approval, Permits, & Installation.Specify equipment and consult with vendors on project needs and deliverablesProvide all project documentation and project support to the PM group for project management and implementationCoordination- Facilitate effective communication and efficient resource deployment within the department as well as within the organizationInsure a pro-active communication process back to sales team is in place so concepts, ideas, designs, etc can be implemented up-stream to minimize repeatable errors and great ideas can be used as a competitive advantage during the sales cycle.Prioritizing workload effectively and responding to all teams in a timely fashion.Execution- Ensure the commitments are fulfilled.This includes working with the Sales Team to finalize concepts to meet customer investmentDevelop a description of operation and work with electrical control vendors to finalize.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist team members through mentoring and coaching in complex subjects.Provide technical guidance to associates and management.Take part in customer review callsWork with Project management to develop a system design and ordering of mechanical equipment.Project site visits to gather required dimensionsStep in and assist project manager or sales team when required due to issues or expertise that are required.

- Decide which equipment options and vendors are needed for the customers’ application.
EDUCATION
EXPERIENCE
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Valid Driver’s License.SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PMP, PE or other professional certification a plus.
TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer knowledge, Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet, QuickBooks, AutoCAD.Understanding of pneumatic and controls application.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to read drawings and visualize details in three dimensions.Attention to detail required.Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and their installation.Excellent problem-solving skills.Effective communication abilities.Possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to effectively lead employees in the estimating group.
ENVIRONMENTAL/PHYSICAL FACTORS
This position works primarily in a typical office environment, however 15% Travel RequiredThis position requires the ability to lift 25 lbs.This position requires the ability to access mezzanines and maintenance platforms.
